Veluwe the most popular holiday location in our own country!
In 2019, the Veluwe was the most popular holiday destination in our own country. Where the North Sea coastal towns were still the most popular in 2018, the Veluwe has since surpassed the Dutch coast. Last year, the Veluwe hosted 1.7 million holidays, which is as much as 16.3% more compared to 2018 (source: Omroep Gelderland)At TopParken (five holiday parks) we notice a significant increase in the number of holidays at the Veluwe as well.
Increased focus on autumn and winter
At tourism bureau Visit Veluwe, they are understandably pleased with the title of "most popular holiday location in our own country". They do make the conscious decision to inspire visitors to come to the Veluwe during the less popular periods (autumn-winter). In doing so, Visit Veluwe hopes to decrease the strain on nature, and to allow the Veluwe to profit from the increasing tourism throughout the year. During the past year, this was successful considering the increase of 34% during autumn and 30% during winter (source: Omroep Gelderland).
The most popular place for an investment
Thanks in part to the increasing popularity of the Veluwe, including during the lower periods, it is very interesting to invest in a holiday accommodation at the Veluwe.
